Adams Selects Town Manager, Faces Big Y Closure

The Adams, Massachusetts town seal.

Adams, Massachusetts has chosen its new town manager, ending a search that left the position vacant for over a year: Jay Green. Green,  formerly the administrative officer for North Adams, works as a district manager for Amtrak, and is the president of the Berkshire Scenic Railway Museum. Select board member Christine Hoyt talked to WAMC about why the town selected Green, as well as the recent news that the town’s Big Y would be closing.

Josh Landes has been WAMC's Berkshire Bureau Chief since February 2018 after working at stations including WBGO Newark and WFMU East Orange. A passionate advocate for Berkshire County, Landes was raised in Pittsfield and attended Hampshire College in Amherst, receiving his bachelor's in Ethnomusicology and Radio Production. You can reach him at jlandes@wamc.org with questions, tips, and/or feedback.
