Committee assignments for the new session on Beacon Hill are coming out.
State Senator Adams Hinds represents Berkshire, Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden counties. The Democrat current sits on the following committees: ways and means, education and healthcare financing, tourism, arts, and cultural development, and rules.
Hinds announced Thursday he will also be vice chair of the committee on redistricting and chair of the Joint Committee on Revenue. He says the latter will give him a chance to deal with a problem endemic to Massachusetts.
“What are we doing about income inequality? Massachusetts is one of the wealthiest state in the country based on per capita income and we are also one of the most unequal.”
Hinds was re-elected to a second term in November.
