A new annual report found Westover Air Reserve Base added almost $195 million to the regional economy in western Massachusetts during the 2018 fiscal year.
It was a drop of $18 million from last year.
The report said total payroll on the base declined and there was a decrease in spending on construction.
WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Senior Master Sergeant Andrew Biscoe, the acting head of the public affairs office for the 439th Airlift Wing at Westover.
