Officials say the Burlington International Airport, which struggled after the recession, is seeing a 12-percent increase in passengers this year.
Airport officials expect the total number of travelers by year's end to be between 650,000 and 700,000, up from 580,000 about five years ago.

They say they have worked with airlines to increase service and add mainline flights with bigger jets. On Wednesday, low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines announced it is coming to Vermont's Burlington International Airport with direct flights to Orlando, Florida, next year.

The airline says the flights will run twice a week to and from Orlando.

Frontier hopes to expand its service to and from Vermont.

Officials say the service not only benefits Vermonters but will bring more people to the state.
