Vermont's unemployment rate for June remains unchanged from May, at 2.8 percent.
The unemployment rate for Vermont's 17 labor markets ranged from a low of 2.1 percent in White River Junction to a high of 4.3 percent in Derby. For the second month in a row, Vermont was tied for the fifth-lowest statewide unemployment rate. The Burlington-South Burlington metropolitan area was tied for the fourth-lowest unemployment rate in the country.

The national rate in June was 4 percent.

Vermont Labor Commissioner Lindsay Kurrle said Friday the labor participation rate grew for the sixth consecutive month.
