After Scandal, Rosenberg Separates From Husband Bryon Hefner

Former Massachusetts Senate President Stan Rosenberg has separated from his husband Bryon Hefner, who is being investigated for sexual misconduct.

The news of their separation was first reported by the Boston Globe in a story about Rosenberg’s possible return to the Senate presidency following the scandal.

The Amherst Democrat stepped aside from the leadership position after the Globe reported four men had accused Hefner of sexual misbehavior and said he had bragged of having influence over Senate business.

Rosenberg in statement on Dec. 1st said he was shocked by the allegations.

"If Bryon claimed to have influence over my decisions or over the Senate, he should not have said that. It is simply not true," said Rosenberg.

A Senate Ethics Committee investigation is ongoing.
