Unclear Future For Connecticut's Transportation Fund

Connecticut is allocating $15 million to transit projects across the state.

Ten communities and the southeast region are receiving funds to redevelop properties around train stations.

Democratic Governor Dannel Malloy has warned about the looming insolvency of the state's main transportation fund, predicting the account will be in deficit for multiple years, beginning with fiscal year 2019. Future projects could be scaled back or cancelled. Connecticut’s Department of Transportation has scheduled two public meetings January 16th to present its long-term plan.

It’s unclear what impact the Trump administration’s plan to upgrade the country’s aging infrastructure could have on state plans.
