Williamstown and Williams College will fund a regional ambulance merger.
The Village Ambulance Service in Williamstown and North Adams Ambulance merger will serve those municipalities, and nearby Hancock, New Ashford, Clarksburg, Florida, Monroe, and Rowe, as well as Stamford and Readsboro, Vermont. They’ll employ 90 once the two combine.
Williamstown and Williams College will split the cost of the merger planned for January 1st. The town’s finance committee committed $75,000 on Tuesday.
The Village Ambulance Service says the cost of the merger is about $249,000.
