Berkshire County is known for cell phone dead zones. Verizon is seeking to make upgrades.
Verizon made a proposal to Pittsfield’s Community Development Board last week to install another cell tower to help reduce the strain on two existing towers in Pittsfield.
The company says the cell tower would enhance service citywide and for nearby Lenox.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will review the proposal November 15th.
Lawmakers say it could spur productivity in the region.
