Agency Promotes Adoptions For Children Living In Foster Homes

Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange

Events are taking place in western Massachusetts as part of National Adoption Month. Advocates are trying to highlight the need for permanent homes for children who are in foster care.

At a reception for adoptive parents and adopted youth at Springfield City Hall Thursday, WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill spoke with Lisa Funaro.  She is the executive director of the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
