WSU Student Reports Finding Racial Slur On Dorm Door

Westfield State University has opened an investigation after a racial slur was written on student’s door on the Massachusetts college campus.

Westfield State University President Ramon Torrecilha swiftly denounced the incident both in a written message to the campus community and at an address to students Thursday morning.

" This deplorable. This is not acceptable. This is not part of who we are as a community," said Torrecilha.

He vowed that those who are found responsible will be held accountable.

According to MassLive, the slur was found on the door of a black student in New Hall, an on campus housing complex for undergraduates.

The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
