There will be no school in Burlington on Monday due to the teachers' strike, but the district is planning to make meals available to students at several locations.

In addition to serving free lunches at J.J. Flynn Elementary School and Burlington High School from 11 a.m. to noon, the district also is working with several community groups to deliver meals to six neighborhoods in the city. Location details are available on the school district's website .

Members of the Burlington Education Association went on strike Thursday. Teachers say the issue is scheduling time for teachers to prepare outside the classroom and to work one-on-one with students. The school board says teachers made new, unexpected demands at the last minute.
