A report on the autopsy of a man shot and killed by police in Pittsfield, Massachusetts is out.
Daniel Gillis of Pittsfield allegedly charged at police on Friday, armed with a knife. Police were responding to a domestic disturbance.
The autopsy shows Gillis died from seven gunshot wounds. The Berkshire District Attorney’s office and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit are still investigating.
Pittsfield Police Officer Christopher Colello, who shot Gillis, also fired his weapon in the line of duty in 2010, injuring a suspect.
It’s the city’s second police-involved shooting this year. In January, police shot and injured a man who allegedly tried to run them over while fleeing a traffic stop.
