Friday marks the town of Lenox, Massachusetts’s 250th anniversary  – more on Lenox Day.

Lenox is turning 250, and The Mount – a living history center in town and author Edith Wharton’s former home – has put together a day of special events.

There will be an exhibit of historic photos showing what the village of Lenox Dale looked like 100 years ago, an outdoor sculpture exhibit and mansion tours. It starts at 10.

Lenox Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kameron Spaulding says it’s a great milestone for the town.

“So it gives people a chance to get together and look back on kind of the long history that’s gotten us to where we are today,” Spaulding says.

More events are planned throughout the summer.
