Connecticut has received $450,000 from the Environmental Protection Agency to remediate Brownfield sites, but Democrats from the state warn the program is in jeopardy.

The EPA funds will help clean up Brownfield sites in Shelton, Waterbury and Hartford.

Shelton will receive $200,000 to remediate the Shelton Canal and Industrial District. Hartford and Waterbury will each receive $125,000.

The White House's budget proposal would cut the Brownfields program by nearly 23 percent.
