Pittsfield Mayor Linda Tyer has released her proposed operating budget for next year.
The roughly $164 million budget released Wednesday marks an increase of just more than 1 percent.
The budget eliminates six positions and would consolidate and reorganize several departments. Nearly every department is at or under level funding.
In a letter to the City Council, Tyer says her budget objectives are to maintain blight-free neighborhoods, competitive public schools and economic growth.
There will be six special budget meetings over the next two months.
