Police in Colchester, Vermont, say a student was caught with a gun at the local high school.
Authorities say the boy was carrying the loaded, small-caliber handgun as a precaution Tuesday and had no intention of using it. They said they found no history of threats or bullying toward him.
WCAX-TV reports the gun was confiscated and the student is due in court.
The boy's name and age were not released.
