Vermont Republican gubernatorial candidate Phil Scott has been accused of breaking campaign finance rules by illegally coordinating with the Republican Governors Association on three television ads.
Vermont Attorney General William Sorrell is reviewing a complaint filed by the Vermont Democratic Party over the ads, which were produced by the RGA through its political action committee A Stronger Vermont.

The complaint alleges that the type of close-up footage used in the ads suggests that Scott's campaign coordinated with A Stronger Vermont's camera crew beforehand.

Scott's campaign manager Brittney Wilson denied the claims and said it's not hard to figure out where the candidate will be considering his events are publicized on the campaign's website.

A spokesman for the RGA didn't return requests seeking comment.
