Group From Springfield Diocese Travels To Poland For Catholic Youth Event

A delegation from western Massachusetts is scheduled to depart later today for Poland to attend the Catholic Church’s World Youth Day.

They will be part of a week-long international gathering of young Catholics in Krakow, the childhood home of Pope John Paul II, who instituted the first World Youth Day in 1985.

WAMC’s Paul Tuthill spoke with Bishop Mitchell Rozanski, who is leading the delegation from the Springfield diocese on the pilgrimage to Poland.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
