Officials say plans to redevelop the former Moran coal plant in Burlington, Vermont, may be in jeopardy.
Officials in Mayor Miro Wienberger's office and officials with New Moran Inc., the company tasked with overseeing the redevelopment, emailed the Burlington Free Press newspaper to say that the future of the plant is being reevaluated.
New Moran planned to break ground on the redevelopment this summer. They had sought to bring a public market, observation deck and event space to hold up to 1,500 people to the location.
Wienberger previously had said that the plant would be demolished, but his communications and project director declined to comment when asked if that was still the mayor's position.
City Councilor David Hartnett says time has run out for New Moran.
