Marlboro businessman Brandon Riker, who had been seeking the Democratic Party nomination to run for lieutenant governor of Vermont, says he's dropping out of the race and supporting the candidacy of state Senator David Zuckerman.
Riker announced his decision at a Wednesday news conference in Montpelier.

There is still a Democratic primary between Zuckerman and state Representative Kesha Ram.

Republican Randy Brock, a former state senator and auditor, is seeking his party's nomination. Rutland physician Louis Meyers is in the race as an independent.

Republican Lieutenant Governor Phil Scott is not seeking re-election because he is seeking his party's nomination for governor.
