For 15 years as director of the Springfield Mayor’s Office of Consumer Information, Milagros Johnson has battled scam artists.
She has helped people who have fallen victim to identify theft, and gotten satisfaction for people in disputes arising from car repairs and home improvements. The office has helped recover more than $11 million for consumers.
As National Consumer Protection Week was being observed, Johnson spoke with WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill about the work her office does.
