Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin voiced sharp criticisms of Exxon Mobil Corp. and the federal Food and Drug Administration in his State of the State address. Now those he targeted are firing back.
Governor Shumlin is calling for divestment of any state-owned Exxon Mobil stock. "Exxon Mobil  have long known about the dangers of global warming and chose to conceal it.”

On Friday the oil giant's Alan Jeffers said the company  rejects the allegations.

Shumlin also sharply criticized the federal Food and Drug Administration which he blames for the opiate and heroin addiction crisis. “Three letters are at the root of the problem: FDA”

FDA spokesman Eric Pahon says resolving the opiate crisis is a top priority for the agency.
