Body Found In Connecticut River

wikipedia.org

Police say a body has been found in the Connecticut River, under a bridge connecting Holyoke to South Hadley.

The body was located Friday beneath the Vietnam Memorial Bridge, which is part of Route 116.

South Hadley Police on Friday night referred any questions about the matter to the District Attorney's office for the Northwestern District, which was already closed for the day.

A car belonging to a missing Chicopee woman, 61-year-old Janice Camerlin, was located near the same bridge on Wednesday. In a posting on Facebook Friday, the Chicopee Police Department said Camerlin, who has been missing since Tuesday, might have located pending positive identification from the medical examiner's office.

The post did not directly link the body discovered in the river to the missing woman.
