The administration of Vermont Governor Peter Shumlin is asking for the public's ideas on what the state's spending priorities should be as officials prepare what is expected to be a very tough budget for the next fiscal year.
Administration Secretary Justin Johnson has announced two Internet-based webinars are being set up to take public input on Nov. 23. The human services budget will be the topic from 1 to 3 p.m., and the rest of state government will be the focus from 4 to 6 p.m.

Among the pressures on human services are more people getting more health care through Medicaid; a call for more social workers to respond to abuse and neglect of children, and the continuing unmet need for substance abuse treatment.
