Two more students have been arrested and charged with making threats against schools in Methuen, bringing the number to four.
Police say a 14-year-old who was arrested Friday told a fellow student he was going to shoot up Tenney Middle School on Monday. A 13-year-old who was arrested said he would supply the weapons.
Police say they searched both boys' homes and discovered no evidence to substantiate the threats. Both were charged with making a threat against a school. The 14-year-old was held without bail and transferred to a juvenile holding facility. The 13-year-old was released to the custody of his parents.
The threats mirror one made Monday against Methuen High School. A 16-year-old faces charges of threatening to commit murder and unlawful possession of ammunition for that threat. A fourth student was arrested Thursday for pulling a fire alarm.
