Hospital officials say a new rehabilitation center is open for business in eastern Vermont.
Mt. Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor recently opened their Acute Rehabilitation Center — part of a $7 million capital improvement project.
Hospital CEO Kevin Donovan tells the Eagle Times the hospital is investing in its physical plant at the main health care facility and the Ottauquechee Health Center in Woodstock.
A hospital spokeswoman says the center is the first phase to modernize, expand and update the hospital's patient care and rehabilitation capabilities. The 10-bed inpatient unit is located within the hospital, and is open to patients all day and night.
The facility includes a simulation kitchen, transitional apartment, therapeutic workshop, space for family members to stay overnight and private patient rooms.
