Vermont Police Seek Suspect In Killing Of Windsor Woman

Vermont police say a Windsor man they believe shot and killed his estranged girlfriend may have swapped license plates on the car he is thought to be driving.

Police say 27-year-old Jason Kendall fled the scene of the Monday morning shooting in downtown Windsor in a silver 1996 Honda Accord, which they believe now has Massachusetts license plate: 842YM3.

Windsor police received a 911 call at about 7 a.m. Monday from a witness who reported hearing screams and gunshots near a location on Main Street.

The victim was identified as 22-year-old Molly Helland, of Windsor. Helland, who had a child with Kendall, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Helland recently ended their relationship.
