Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders will officially launch his Presidential campaign today in Burlington.
The kick-off event in Burlington’s Waterfront Park will begin at 5 p.m. with Sanders scheduled to speak at 6. Other speakers include environmental activist Bill McKibben and Ben & Jerry’s founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield.
Chris Graf is a Vermont political analyst: “What he needs is a strong grassroots movement much like we saw from Howard Dean. That’s what going to get Bernie Sanders the nomination and elected.”
If it rains, Sanders’ campaign launch will be held at Memorial Auditorium. Sanders is seeking the Democratic nomination.
