A nearly 150-year-old church is going to be put up for sale in Brattleboro, Vermont.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports the First Baptist Church has been struggling with a declining membership and rising costs to heat and maintain the building.
Church members met Sunday and voted to move ahead with the sale.
An anonymous potential buyer has offered $200,000 for the property. The town assessed the building and property at $890,000 and a recent independent appraisal put the value at $375,000.
Board of Trustees Chairwoman Karen Davis said a committee will sit down with the buyer and try to work out a deal for the church.
