Backers of a move to tax and regulate marijuana say they would like to see the state of Vermont treat it like alcohol.
Vermont lawmakers are expected to consider such a proposal this year. Next week, a report is due from the Rand Corporation on the potential effects of making marijuana legal for adults and regulating it.
A coalition has been formed backing the effort that includes Vermonters for Criminal Justice Reform and the state chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.
