The Burlington School Board is looking for ways to move forward in the aftermath of the resignation of three interim administrators who felt they were being mistreated by the board.

In an emergency meeting on Sunday, School Board Chairman Patrick Halladay and board clerk Liz Curry agreed to meet with the interim administrators who resigned on Friday to address the issues that led to the resignations.

On Friday, acting superintendent Stephanie Phillips and administrators Paul Irish and Nikki Fuller resigned, saying they had been disrespected by the board.

School board leaders will also identify options for moving forward. A board committee will seek to present the name of a new permanent superintendent to the full board by Nov. 10.

Halladay says they've committed themselves to "better our role" in the community.
