U.S. Senator Sanders To Talk Privacy in Vermont

Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders is going to hold a town meeting in Montpelier about constitutional rights and privacy.

According to Senator Sanders' website, the National Security Agency's "surveillance of millions of Americans' telephone and email records" will be the topic for Saturday's meeting.

Sanders says the United States must be vigorous in protecting Americans from terrorist threats. He says this can be done "without undermining the constitutional rights which make us a free society."

U.S. Representative Peter Welch will also be in attendance.

The keynote speakers will be Georgetown Law Professor David Cole and National Lawyers Guild Executive Director Heidi Boghosian.

The 1 p.m. meeting at Montpelier City Hall also will be streamed online.
