Republican Don Humason Sworn In To The Massachusetts Senate

donhumason.org

Western Massachusetts has a new State Senator.

Republican State Senator Don Humason was sworn into office Wednesday by Governor Deval Patrick.  Humason, who was in his 6th term as a State Representative from Westfield, won the special election on November 5th to fill the seat vacated by former  Republican Senator Mike Knapik.

Humason is just one of four Republicans in the forty-member State Senate.  The minority leader has pledged to appoint Humason to the powerful Way and Means Committee.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
