Three top officials from the Vermont Agency of Transportation are traveling to Colorado today to aid rebuilding following that state’s deadly flooding.

Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has asked Vermont to share its expertise learned from Tropical Storm Irene to help Colorado recover from the floods that are ravaging the Rocky Mountain state.

Vermont Agency of Transportation Deputy Secretary Sue Minter, who served as the state’s Irene Recovery Officer, along with the state’s chief transportation engineer and director of operations have been sent to Colorado to help with recovery.

State Transportation Secretary Brian Searles says the similarities to Irene make Vermont’s experience valuable and they are helping without hesitation.
