wikipedia commons

Vermont librarians and a Google executive will be connecting via videoconference to unveil a new system allowing people to do that.

The event set for 11 a.m. Tuesday will link Vermont State Librarian Martha Reid and her professional colleagues in Rutland and Brattleboro, as well as Google's Matt Dunne in Woodstock.

Dunne, who works on community outreach for Google, is a former Vermont legislator and was a candidate for governor in 2010.

He and Reid will be joined by Randal Smathers of the Rutland library and Jerry Carbone of the Brooks Memorial Library in Brattleboro.
