Congress To Honor Marathon Victims, Responders

Massachusetts's congressional delegation is preparing to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and the first responders who rushed to their aid.

The nine-member delegation has reserved time on the floor of the House of Representatives today to recognize survivors and public safety officials.

The approximately hour-long tribute is scheduled to begin at noon.

Members of the Massachusetts delegation will be joined by members of Congress from neighboring states to thank law enforcement officers, medical professionals, first responders, and ordinary citizens for their bravery, dedication, and sacrifice.

The delegation said the first responders saved hundreds of lives in the immediate aftermath of the attack and countless more from the threat of future attacks.

They will also honor those killed and the more than 200 wounded.
