A Vermont House committee plans to take testimony from the public about the use of stun guns.

The House Government Operations Committee will hold a hearing Wednesday evening at the Statehouse in Montpelier.

Lawmakers are considering two bills related to police use of stun guns. One calls for uniform statewide training and standards for officers using them, and the other would require that embedded digital memory chips that record each use of the weapons be a public record.

People who wish to testify will be able to sign up personally starting at 5 p.m. outside Room 11. Each person will be given two minutes to make a statement.
