MGM Campaigns For Casino Project In Springfield

Of the four companies competing for the lone casino license available in western Massachusetts, one has stood out when it comes to marketing.  MGM Resorts International, which hopes to build a casino in downtown Springfield, has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on advertising. It has T.V ads, billboards, and even lawn signs.   The company has also donated generously to charities and civic organizations.  MGM, for example, just became the sponsor of the annual  “ World’s Largest Pancake Breakfast” event in Springfield.   WAMC”s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief  Paul Tuthill, spoke with MGM Resorts President Bill Hornbuckle.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
