Officials with Mohegan Sun addressed a meeting of 200 town officials and residents in Palmer Monday night about plans for a resort casino in the rural western Massachusetts town.  WAMC”s Paul Tuthill reports

People hoping Mohegan Sun would finally reveal the full scope of the project they’ve pursued in Palmer since 2009  left Monday Night’s meeting disappointed. Mohegan Sun officials said they don’t want to tip their hand to the three other firms competing for the resort casino license in western Massachusetts.  Paul Wisnewski of Palmer said his chief concern about the casino has yet to be answered.

Mohegan Sun unveiled a new name and logo for the western Massachusetts project, an updated website and social media component.

The record-setting tenure of Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno. The 2011 tornado and its recovery that remade the largest city in Western Massachusetts. The fallout from the deadly COVID outbreak at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. Those are just a few of the thousands and thousands of stories WAMC’s Pioneer Valley Bureau Chief Paul Tuthill has covered for WAMC in his nearly 17 years with the station.
