The detailed plans and related documents for two competing resort casino proposals in Springfield Massachusetts have been made public.
In keeping a pledge to be transparent the casino development plans by MGM and Penn National were posted Wednesday on the city’s web site. Held back from public view was information considered proprietary. A team of advisories and consultants will recommend to Mayor Domenic Sarno if he should negotiate host community deals with one or both of the companies.
MGM and Penn are in a competition for development rights in Springfield, and also in a bigger competition with Hard Rock and Mohegan Sun for the only casino license that will be awarded in western Massachusetts.
