Casino Commission To Hold Forum In Western Massachusetts

The  Massachusetts Gaming Commission  is holding a forum in western Massachusetts Wednesday on some of the issues pertaining to casino development..WAMC’s Paul Tuthill reports.    

  

   The five member commission  and panels of experts will discuss workforce development, tourism, and  support for communities that become hosts to casinos..The forum is being held on the campus  of Western New England University in Springfield.   Competition for the lone casino license the commission can issue in the western part of the state is heating up, with several companies interested in Springfield. It’s not surprising, according to casino industry expert, Clyde Barrow of UMass Dartmouth

   A site in Palmer has long been considerd for a casino development by Mohegan Sun of Connecticut..
