Scam Advisory: We have been made aware that an online entity is posing as Joe Donahue to invite authors and other creatives onto our radio shows. The scammers then attempt to charge guests an appearance fee for exposure/publicity.

The Media Project #1468

(Airs 7/21/19 @ 6 p.m. & 7/22/19 @ 3 p.m.) The Media Project is an inside look at media coverage of current events with WAMC’s CEO Alan Chartock; Daily Freeman Publisher Emeritus Ira Fusfeld; Judy Patrick, former editor of the Daily Gazette and vice president for editorial development for the New York Press Association; and Rosemary Armao, editor and investigative journalist.

On this week's episode Alan, Ira, Judy and Rosemary discuss how the media should cover President Trump — and specifically the president's racist tweets. They also discuss reports that Starbucks plans to stop selling newspapers, and the pay-per-article model used by some news organizations online.

Jesse King is the host of WAMC's national program on women's issues, "51%," and the station's former Hudson Valley bureau chief. She has also produced episodes of the WAMC podcast "A New York Minute In History."
