Street Naming to Honor Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

Street Naming to Honor Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh

Please join Buddhist monks and nuns, as well as dignitaries and community leaders, for the unveiling by New York City officials of Thích Nhất Hạnh Way in Manhattan at 11:30 a.m. Friday, April 11, followed by a walking meditation. Everyone is welcome to this special event commemorating the legacy of the late Thich Nhat Hanh, Buddhist teacher, peace activist, poet, and author.

The City of New York will officially co-name West 109th Street between Riverside and Broadway as “Thích Nhất Hạnh Way,” recognizing his profound contributions to mindfulness, peace, and social transformation.
The ceremony will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the corner of West 109th Street and Broadway, followed by a silent walking meditation to Union Theological Seminary, led by monastics from Blue Cliff Monastery in New York and Deer Park Monastery in California.

Free registration isn’t required but will help us plan our event. More at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/thich-nhat-hanh-way-co-naming-ceremony-in-new-york-city-tickets-1255090602779.
