On September 8, at 7 pm. Kaats Cradle Theater at the Carriage House in Stamford presents “Strange Times,” a whirlwind trip through 120 years of “magic and madness” in cinema, produced by Patricia Wadsley and James Nevin. Among the offerings in this offbeat film compilation: gems by groundbreaking French magician and filmmaker George Méliès, animator Max Fleischer, sci fi from the 50s and 60s, and comedy madness from a film maker known only as Karl Off. Strange Times has been called “laugh out loud funny” and a “10 out of 10” by viewers who’ve seen it at previous showings at the Pine Hill Arms and Phoenicia Playhouse.
