Peace Week Saratoga is sponsoring a performance by Mountain River Taiko, a non-profit organization, at 1:00 pm in Congress Park on SEPTEMBER 25TH. A one-hour workshop will follow, from 2:30 - 3:30. In the event of rain, the workshop will be held in the sanctuary at Presbyterian New England Congregational Church, 24 Circular St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.

Mountain River Taiko is a non-profit organization located in Northampton, MA. They are striving to increase intercultural awareness by sharing the joy of playing taiko drums. Taiko is a full-body performance art that blends physicality and musicality, movement and rhythm. Originating in Japan but molded by a globalized world, taiko performances pay homage to ancient rhythms as well as innovate contemporary beats.

Following the performance, there will be an opportunity to engage in a Try Taiko workshop from 2:30-3:30 pm.
