This weekend get a sneak-peak at a pilot script in progress at the Kaats Cradle Theater Series with a staged reading of select scenes from Mischief, being developed by the writing team known as Funny Business. The event on Saturday September 2, 7 p.m. will feature local actors performing two scenes from the pilot episode, a writer talk-back, and some light refreshments. Funny Business is in residence for the week refining its first season of episodes, preparing to form its production team for the series, and looking to get their words into the ears of audiences and gather feedback.

Mischief is about what happens when an A.I. whose only incentive is to maximize profits suddenly seizes control of the world's most lucrative company, causing chaos on a global scale. From the heart of a nameless city, an unlikely band of misfits must stage battles big and small against this and other monsters. Funny Business is an anarchist affinity group focused on exploring questions of power and praxis through comedy.
