The father of two teens beaten inside an upstate New York church is scheduled to go before a judge, two days after seven co-defendants were offered plea agreements by prosecutors.
Bruce Leonard is charged with second-degree murder, manslaughter, kidnapping, assault and gang assault in the October group attack that killed 19-year-old Lucas Leonard and injured 17-year-old Christopher Leonard. Authorities say the beatings took place during an all-night counseling session inside Word of Life Christian Church in New Hartford.
Leonard is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Oneida County Court, where the victims' sister and six other church members appeared on the same charges Monday. They have about a month to mull plea offers by the district attorney's office. Details haven't been released.
Bruce Leonard's wife, Deborah, has pleaded guilty to assault.
