Storyman is the songwriting partnership of Ireland’s Kevin May and Mick Lynch. Kevin and Mick first found recognition as part of the band Guggenheim Grotto but after the duo worked with producer Chris Kuffner on new material the new work was a big enough shift from the Grotto that they became Storyman to reflect the new work. . They released their first album as Storyman, entitled “This Time Round” on November 12, 2013. And it was in support of that project that Storyman visited The Linda.  Kevin and Mick continue to make music today and recently appeared on Mountain Stage.  Alright, let’s get ready to hear their story, from September 2014 here is Storyman.

From Seattle. Washington let’s talk about Hey Marseilles. Hey Marseilles is singer Matt Bishop, guitarist Nick Ward, keyboardist Philip Kobernik, cellist Sam Anderson and violist Jacob Anderson. Together they make some of the most good-natured chamber-pop music around, making the most of a wide array of warm sounds, from cello and viola to horns and accordions. But, those ingredients are all wisely wrapped around some clever songwriting that exudes sweet, hooky sunshine. Hey Marseilles found their lane of success joining in on the trend of other folk-based bands such as Mumford & Sons and The Lumineers while still aiming to keep their music sounding original to them. They continue to make music today and this concert was recorder live at The Linda in February 2016.
