So, let’s talk about Sydney Schizzano.  Sydney is a powerful singer/songwriter who cleverly twists together desperate threads of indie-rock, soul, rap, and R&B into a very, well, Sydney Schizzano blend of pop marked by punchy lyrics and catchy hooks. Sydney sometimes performs as a solo artist and with her four piece band at venues up and down the Hudson from New York City to Albany.  Sydney is also very active in the studio realm; her latest release being a 10 song LP called you gave me love, which Sydney wrote, recorded, mixed, and mastered herself. Now, for this concert, Sydney was joined by keyboardist Julia Gardner and guitarist Zach Grappone, who both provide hauntingly beautiful backing vocal harmonies as well. Alright from the vault, let’s listen to Sydney Schizzano recorded live at The Linda on March 1st, 2019.

Next up is Warden and Co. they’re a folk-rock group based here in upstate New York. Warden and Co. had their first official release in 2019, but make no mistake, these guys have been making great music for decades. Singer/songwriter & guitarist Seth Warden along with violinist Doug Moody and percussionist Brian Melick have been consistently performing “songs for everyone” throughout the eastern and central United States. Seth comes to the table with well over a half-a million Spotify streams from his independently successful “Instrumental Lullabies” album (feat. Doug Moody), and this time around he’s writing music guaranteed to not put you to sleep!  Warden and Co. played our “Open for Take-Out Virtual Concert Series” and let’s just say they did not disappoint! So enjoy, Warden and Co. recorded live at The Linda on March 1st, 2021.

The impacts of COVID-19 have been dire over the past year for working musicians. The Linda: WAMC’s Performing Arts Studio is trying to help do its part with the “Open for Take-Out Virtual Concert Series” produced in collaboration with Chromoscope Pictures. Open for Take-Out features the capital region’s home grown musicians playing live on The Linda stage and is viewable worldwide through Youtube. Similar to our in-person concerts, these are ticketed events. And just like all concerts at The Linda, are presented with the highest standard of production and quality. The month of May sees the finale of this series as we get ready to invite live audiences back to The Linda.

Coming up on the “Open For Take-Out Virtual Concert Series,” we welcome the psych-folk David Bowies-esk Swamp Baby on May 17th. Then we close out the series on May 24th with the dynamic jazz ensemble Matty Stecks and the 518!  You can find tickets to these show and everything at TheLinda.org, or keep up with us on Facebook (@thelindawamc) and Instagram (the_linda_performing_arts).
